“What you know you can’t explain, but you feel it. You’ve felt it your entire life, that there’s something wrong with the world. You don’t know what it is, but it’s there, like a splinter in your mind, driving you mad” — MORPHEUS (The Matrix) To me the above quote from the sci-fi movie The Matrix is indeed a wake-up call in a world that has long lost touch with reality. I just can’t explain my mental state in a better manner as I searched for truth since the last couple of decades, to finally sit down and store my findings in the form of a book titled Life On Meltdown. Thus this hi-tech technogenic world (Matrix) is the world that has been pulled over our eyes to blind us from the truth. As a passionate observer of the human story spanning millions of years, I am trying to view the human world and its present civilizations from a little far, as also one from another generation, race or culture, and also away from the present knowledge industry. Going beyond facts and figures to describe the present state of the world, my philosophy is based on a macro-world view where it accounts for the biosphere, human creativity, security and happiness, and life in all its manifestations. How did mankind, in our modern civilization, suddenly lose its potential quality for survival? MODERN SCHOOL IS WHAT PRISON IS — HOME IS WHAT SCHOOL IS
Mankind lived almost 99.9% of its million years of existence on earth without reading or writing, except perhaps for a few thousand years during its last leg of history today. Nature, did not attach or leave behind any how-to-live manual with him, whereas every machine carries along with it a how-to-operate manual for the making of which modern man, as an integral part of the highly mechanized modern society, requires reading and writing. Thus, being typically a mechanical process, writing or reading is not human but machinery. Therefore man, as a human being, doesn’t require reading and writing but, as a machine being, he requires reading and writing. It is now generally agreed that, in becoming modern, man discovered the world, but lost himself. What does it mean for man to have lost himself? It means that man, in his specific difference as man, has disappeared from view. He has been lost. The specific difference of man is that man, although an animal, is distinguished from other animals by his capacity to know. It is man as knower who has been lost. This might seem a paradoxical statement at least, since the glory of modern man is the modern scientific method, which provides him knowledge undreamt of by the ancients, knowledge that modern man feels gives him a decisive advantage over the ancients. ANIMAL LOVERS NOW SHED THE CROCODILE TEARS
Domesticated dog left outside shivering in the penetrating cold winter in America In America, there are an estimated 6–8 million homeless animals entering animal shelters every year. These are not the offspring of homeless “street” animals—they are the puppies and kittens of cherished family pets and even purebreds. Many people are surprised to learn that nationwide more than 3 million of these kinds of cats and dogs are euthanized in shelters. About half of these 6–8 million homeless animals are adopted and most of them kept spayed or neutered to avoid overpopulation and other inconveniences. Tragically, the other half is euthanized. These are ‘healthy’, ‘sweet’ pets (compared to the original natural animals of their respective species, they are highly degenerated and immature lots) that would have made great companions to modern man.
